Hunting in the region of Sologne

The region of Sologne has always been reputed for prime rough and driven wingshooting. Thanks to modern management, big game is now booming and the wild boar driven hunts attract many "rifles". Over a few days stay, your "gunning" experience should be completed by a days following a horse & hounds stag hunt. See hunting scenes pictures on our pages Wingshooting, Driven wingshooting, Horse & Hounds.

The Sologne region

The Sologne offers a picturesque unusualcountryside where most places seem to be only dedicated to hunting. Under the reign of Napoleon III, the Sologne was a region of sandy swamps, and low moors. A sort of heather called "brémailles" is the main covert under the pines and "stunted" oaks and birch trees.

The Loire Châteaux

The Renaissance jewel castles of Chambord, Cheverny, Amboise, Chenonceau, Azay le Rideau and many others are visited by millions of tourists each summer. You find there memories of outstanding characters like the King François 1er, Marie de Medicis, or Leonardo da Vinci. We offer to visit some of them in a much intimate atmosphère and with hunters eyes. Most of them were simply hunting residences of our kings and many of them still are actively linked with hunting activities (game reservations, kennels, hunting museums). The French game fair takes place each year in June at the château de Chambord. See their website for the year's program www.game-fair.com.
