Vosges Alsace

Setting of the 22nd world fly fishing championship

2002 is far now but the setting of the world cup is still there and if you are looking for a fishing break while traveling to eastern France, just ask us. This is near the towns of Colmar or Strasbourg. Not far from another town named Saint Dié, nicknamed the "Godfather of America" Did you know this ? It is where a jury of scientists finally kept the name "Amerique" in a choice of other possibilities (in honor of the navigator Amerigo Vespucci)...

France - Montagne Vosgienne

The biggest event of the season 2002 took take place in the charming setting of the Vosges Mountains. More than 20 nations were represented in the competition. You can visit the very premises of the contest with your fly rod to check what would have been your own result. The Vosges Mountains are situated between the regions of Lorraine and Alsace. The touring road of the Alsace wineries starts nearby around the nice market town of Thann.

Fish species

The Rivers are hosting brown Fario trouts and grayling.
