Bordeaux - Sauternes
Béarn
It
is nice and easy to travel by
car from the region of Bordeaux to the Pyrenees. The following
pictures
were shot on a single day. For so many things done and seen
it recalls a sort of Bloom's day... All right ! less intellectual, over
a larger distance and in South West France....
I woke up at my cousin's house on the side of the Garonne near Bordeaux
went to the local market for a small coffee watching people
and nice products like these crates of fresh porcini "cèpes"
went to the "cooperative cellar" of Quinsac to buy claret
hit the road and stopped to admire a castle overlooking the river
arrived for lunch in Sauternes
had a nice grilled entrecôte
grilled on vine chunks please !
then shopped for a bit of local delights
dropped a letter at the impressive post office
joined the chateau Yquem
for a few steps
and shoot a few pictures
didn't buy a bottle of the great (expensive) wine (grin)
continued to Bazas
where I searched a second "entrecôte" for my dinner
I was hooked on "entrecôte" and those of Bazas are famous
and arrived in Salies de Béarn in the late afternoon
